It is rightly said, “Journalism is the first rough draft of history.”

The first ever newspaper by the students…for the students... in the history of …

San Luis Middle School

We believed! We envisaged! We accomplished!

It’s always hard to strike the first dent. Starting something from the scratch
and then taking it to the higher level is the real challenge.

We, the members of the Editorial Board feel very proud in sharing our first ever
endeavor in print, Scorpion Spirit’ with you all. Initially the concept of an
‘Editorial Board’ was quite unheard of in this part of America.

Having a formal investiture ceremony on Sept.21, this year, boosted our
morale and instilled among us the spirit of gathering data and reporting while
exploring the truth.

When we took the pledge after wearing our official ranks, we felt a sense
of pride and responsibility. We were little apprehensive of what to do next,
until our guide and teacher-editor, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, promised to guide us
through out.

We will be sharing our periodic newspaper with you regularly while
experimenting with its design, size and lay out time and again.
Feel free to give your feedback to the members of Editorial Board.
Our venture is in its infancy. Please ignore our silly errors. We are learning
every moment.

A brief profile and designations of the members of the Editorial Board’
will help you understand and approach us better.

“Everything can be learned, including, to a very large extent, to be what you are not. You can learn to be pretty if you are plain, charming if you are dull, thin if you are fat, youthful if you are aging, how to write though you are inarticulate, how to make money though you are not good with figures.”

“Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.
It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.”
