Teachers were welcome back to school with a delicious breakfast and all of our District Bands performing for them. The teachers from San Luis Middles School are full of energy, prepared, and ready to begin the year. It will be a great year at San Luis Middle School! Scorpions sting with pride!

On Saturday, May 20th San Luis Middle School and the education field lost a great man and teacher. Mr. Bohon touched the lives of many students in his 31 years of teaching, and he will forever be in our hearts and minds. We mourn the passing of Mr. Bohon, and will be dedicating our Promotion Ceremony in his honor. He will be greatly missed by all.

Our National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony took place on April 28th, 2017. A total of 15 distinguished SLMS students met the demanding academic standards of NJHS; they also completed service work within the community to be eligible for induction at the ceremony.
All 15 students were sworn as official members of our community by Ms. Valera, their loyal advisor.

NJHS students, you are a vivid example of our SLMS Scropion Shield.

Way to go, Scorpions!

After months of training, the SLMS Running Club was able to successfully complete the Color in Motion 5k at Wetlands Park.  They had a great time!

Congratulations to Spandan Gandhi for competing in the 2017 Arizona State Spelling Bee! Spandan proudly represented Yuma County. He competed against 27 students from all over the state ending in 6th place. Thanks to Miss. Valera for advising him! Way to go, Spandan! You made us extremely proud!

We are extremely proud to announce that Spandan Gandhi, our outstanding 8th grade student, won 1st place in the Yuma County Spelling Bee Contest.

Congratulations, Spandan! Your commitment and sacrifice paid off!
